I have a 2006 kodiak 450 YFM45FAV Does anyone know what the valve clearance spec are supposed to be. I am having trouble with the machine back firng when slowing down , not sure if its valves but they need an adjustment anyway any thoughts?

Usually means that the pilot circuit is too lean (as in when you have less backpressure in the exhaust when modded or much improved air filter).
However, to answer your question, I have never seen a bike that doesn't use .004 on intake and .006 on exhaust.
