Motobishi...That looks like it's the exact same thing as the Moose, made by CFmoto in China.I rode one it it was pretty good.No engine braking though and I didn't like that. Also the clutches didn't shift as smooth as I would have liked. The engine had just alittle bit of vibration but so does my Kawi 360 prairie. The quad seemed like it was built tuff though.Oh and one more thing,I found it needed more low end gear, seemed like the belt was slipping all the time. I liked the temperature gage on the dash.Do these Motobishi's have that too? Where did you buy that thing from and any problems yet?

Superman, Do you have any other ATV experience? How does it compare to a "name brand" ATV? I'm alittle bit interested
Kawi you tested one? what do you think about them? whats the strong and weak points of the machines?

hows the ride on them, same as any other IRS quad? looked it up and they're 700 pounds without rider can you notice the extra weight? Hows the power on it with all that weight?
kinda odd the belt felt like it was slipping, maybe it needed to be adjusted. There's a dealer afew hours away from me maybe I should head down and go for a test ride, they seem to pretty decent on a spec sheet would be nice to try one out in person

well i bought mine at JJ's Recreational Vehicles in North Bay Ontario. it is the exact same bike as the moose except for a couple extras. the chase 500 comes stock with aluminum wheel and mud gear tires (which are actualy a very nice tire). as for the engine brake it is nothing huge like on the polaris 800 i tried but it does have a brake that slows you down to about 7 kms. as the bike brakes in it will stay engaged longuer. i know when the bike is right out of the crate it does lack a little punch in bottom end but again when the bikes gets the chance to break-in it does have enuf torque to lift the wheel. pretty impressive for a 500. Dalton Industries does infact make a clutch kit for these bikes specificaly. the gauge cluster is the exact same as the cf moto. i love the fact that it has a temp gauge. i don't like the idea that you don't know how hot you are actualy running till that little light on all the other bikes says that you are way to hot. as for being able to compare it to any big brand name bike i can not do that. i have driven nothing over 250 in a honda and polaris. so i can not compare it that way. i have been able to get threw lots of stuff that others could not get threw but that has to do with the driver. i drive full out all the time. i do not take it easy on my bike by any means. i beat the crap out of it with over size tires and a home made lift kit. the only thing that i have run into is that i have some where on the rear hub bushings. which is an $80 yamaha oem part fix. i have never broke anything else on my bike. i feel that i should inform all of those reading that i do work at JJ's but in no way does that effect my judgement of the bike. i just plan love my bike. the frame and drivetrain is actualy yamaha and the engine is a suzuki vinson 500. i have lots of extras on my bike. if anybody would like to take one of these out for a test drive you are more then welcome to come down to the shop and try one. just let us know that you are from this forum and read my post and wopuld like to try for yourself. we sell these bike for $6995. we actualy have them on sale right no for $6500 with a free windsheild and helmet. they come with a 2500 pound chinese winch. they winch is a little slow but never was unable to get me out of anything. well thanks for reading and please feel free to poke and prode with more questions. here is a pic of a stock bike. http://www.jjsrec.com/chase%20500/P3070049.JPG we are also comming out with a 700 ATV and UTV in the spring. cheers

Thanks superman! That was a good honest review! I checked out your video's,they look good! And I checked out your works web site. Finally,a dealer that seems to know what he's talking about when it comes to quads. Personally,I'm on the verge of giving up on this chinese market.I've spent about a year and a half of talking with the chinese but I haven't found a quad that will be good to sell.I just refuse to sell junk to the public!! However, this 500 Moose/Motobishi is about the best quality I have seen coming from China. The Black ones are IMO a wicked looking quad!~ Did you make a pipe for that quad too? Sounded like you had one on there.Keep us updated on the quality of that machine!

Oh and about the givng up on the Chinese market...I think that these importers bringing in the 500 Motobishi had better bring there prices down a little. For instance,I'm selling 450 Kingquad Suzuki EFI atv's,Either no miles or very little like 40 miles or so for 7500.00!! For another thousand bucks you get a brand name quad with EFI and a 6 month warranty. So I feel these importers of chinese product are selling a little high,IMHO.

Can get them in all colours. That price is without a winch.I can sell you a 2500LB warn copy with roller fairlead and Rockerswitch for 180.00. I've sold lots of these and seems to be no problems.Or I could sell you a warn winch if you'd like.

Here's some specs on that Susuki 450 Kingquad. I think it's the best mid sized quad out there and I'm going to replace my other rental quads with these. They have more steel in them than the 700 King quad so they are the same whieght as the 700.That'll just make them tuff! And the engine puts out 36 hp.A 680 Honda Rincon only puts out 38.5! Specs of the 450 KingQuad: Engine Features Powerful 454cc, SOHC, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine designed for a wide powerband and strong performance Compact 4-valve cylinder head with large intake valves and straight intake ports for increased cylinder charging efficiency Semi-gear driven valve system minimizes cam sprocket size allowing a short/narrow cylinder head design and reduced overall engine height SCEM equipped cylinders allows lightweight cylinder construction without a sleeve for improved resistance to heat and friction Durable, forged aluminum piston with L-shaped top compression ring for increased ring seal and flutter resistance Electronic fuel injection system provides excellent throttle response, fuel efficiency and quick engine starts under all operating conditions QuadMatic CVT-type automatic transmission designed for maximum versatility and convenience - fender-mounted gate-type shifter operation for high/low forward ranges, plus neutral and reverse Advanced engine brake system minimizes free-wheeling to reduce downhill speed Electric 2WD, 4WD and differential-lock 4WD - convenient handlebar-mounted push-button controls allow the rider to easily select the right setting for any traction condition Compact torque-sensing limited-slip front differential High capacity aluminum radiator with large diameter cooling fan for stable engine operating temperature High-mounted, snorkel-type air intake system, plus quick-access airbox and air filter for easy maintenance Spin-on-type oil filter - simplifies oil change maintenance Chassis Features Comfortable T-shaped seat with tapered design for rider mobility, plus thick padding for support Independent double A-arm front suspension with 7.1 inches of wheel travel - includes large diameter shock absorbers with 5-way spring preload adjustment Fully independent, I-beam rear suspension with long suspension travel (8.1 inches) - includes 5-way preload adjustable shock absorbers and large diameter rear sway-bar Large, 200mm diameter front disc brakes with new design single-piston calipers designed for strong, reliable braking performance Sealed, multi-plate rear brake system - sealed, clutch-type design provides high durability, reduced unsprung weight and low-maintenance Polyethylene skid plate provides front-to-rear underside protection with minimal resistance over rocks and rough terrain Automotive style gated shift lever for easy and secured operation Full floorboards with aggressively serrated footpegs and mud drain holes Utility/Convenience Features Easy-to-read LCD instrument display - includes speedometer (mile/km selectable), odometer, twin-trip meters, hour meter, clock, fuel gauge, drive range (H,L,N,R) and drive mode (4WD, 4WD lock) - LED indicators for neutral, reverse, 4WD lock, FI/water temp. warning Distinctively-styled 30W multi-reflector halogen headlights, and compact 5/21W tail light and brake light High output magneto generator system and large 18-amp maintenance-free battery provides extra power for cold weather starts and additional electrical accessories Fender-mounted, water resistant 12V/120W electrical accessory outlet Large 4.6 gallon fuel tank positioned for a low center-of-gravity - includes vacuum-operated petcock, ratchet-style fuel cap and convenient bar-type fuel gauge Rugged steel-tube racks with attractive, high-quality wrinkle paint finish for increased durability and scratch resistance Large 2.8 liter water resistant front storage compartment similar to Vinson 500 - includes new easy-to-open/close screw-on cap High towing capacity and standard center-mounted trailer hitch

Ya I heard the tunes! I mounted a Ghetto blaster on the back of an old Kawasaki 300 Bayou and went on an Icefishing trip into Ruby Falls two yeaars ago.Had "Juke Box hero etc" Blaring in the back ground! It was nice hereing that instead of the engine noise! He did you look into adapting your engine with an engine brake off the 500 Vinson motor?

If its a suzuki vinson 500 motor it should be really low, i've seen them turn 29.5" tires decent in mud with some basic mods, should turn 27"s stock easily. Looks like it'd be a good trail bike for my ol' lady, might have to give you a shout in the spring and come down to northbay for a test ride. On a side note, have you tryed out MST outlaw tires? I know JJ has them, and reg outlaws and I think all other highlifter products, I looked at MSTs for my bike but price was a killer.

It's all about gearing, not necessarily what engine is in it. That said, the 500 Vinson engine is a pretty good one.

currect me if i'm wrong, but if they're using the vinson motor, wouldnt they also use the same tranny/gearing?
arctic cat buys most of there engines from suzuki, the cat 500 is the same motor, tran, gearing as the vinson so i assume this bike would be the same?
also suzuki isnt going to continue the 500motor, i think they're cutting it out for next year and just offering the 450EFI so I assume arctic cat will use the 450efi, will these bikes be using the 450efi in a year or two? may not be that important, just thinking

That's why the gearing is a little off...I think they need to put the 450 Rhino Diffs in that thing to gear it down a little.

I own 2 of these machines and like them to date. Have gone everywhere that others have, without problems. Seemed a little weak on low end so installed dalton clutch kit and rejetted carb and now have power to spare. Question to Superman: Have you had an issue with the 4X4 difflock swicth? Both machine have had to have it replaced and it looks weak when taking it apart (plastic tabs broke) If so is there and upgraded part?

Yes they are having problems with some of the 4wd switches. Also the floorboards are pretty flimsy so they are building the new ones with more rubber compound. The switches are being replaced under warranty from what I'm told.
